        Oncaea ( Genus )
Oncaea illgi  Heron, 1977   (F,M)
Ref.:
Heron, 1977 (p.51, figs.F,M); Heron & al., 1984 (p.465); Heron & Frost, 2000 (p.1038, figs.F, tab.2, 3)
Species Oncaea illgi - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1037, Fig.12, C-D].
Female (from NE Pacific): C, habitus (lateral; scale bar: w); D, pediger 4 posterior corner and urosome (lateral; scale bar: x).
Scale bars: 0.1 mm, see figures 3, 4, 5, 10 of Heron and Frost, 2000 for Oncaea canadensis and Oncaea insolita.

Nota: Ratio of length prosome to that of urosome 2.16:1.

Species Oncaea illgi - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1021, Fig.1, H].
Female: P2-P4 endopod terminal ''spine set'' (combination of the lengths, shapes, and position of the three or two terminal spines on the endopods of swimming legs 2-4 for different Oncaea' species).

Nota: endopod of P3 with lateral spine not extending as far as base of subterminal spine.

Species Oncaea illgi - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron in Antarct. Res. Ser. Washington, 1977, 26. [p.54, Fig.10, c-k].
Female (from SW Pacific-Antarctic area): c, habitus (lateral; scale bar: X); d, posterior of last prosomal segment and urosome (lateral; scale bar: X); e, urosome (dorsal; lacking caudal setae; scale bar: Y); f, left A1 (scale bar: Y); g, right A2 (scale bar: Y); h, labrum (scale bar: Z); i, left Md (scale bar Z); j, left Mx1 (scale bar: Z); k, right Mx2 (scale bar: Z).

Nota: Ratio of length genital segment to that of remainder of urosome 1.15: 1.

Species Oncaea illgi - Plate 4 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron in Antarct. Res. Ser. Washington, 1977, 26. [p.56, Fig.11, a-k].
Female: a, right Mxp (scale bar: Y); b-e, P1 to P4 (scale bar: Y); f, P5 (scale bar: Z).

Male: g, habitus (lateral; scale bar: X); h, posterior of last prosomal segment and urosome (lateral; scale bar: Y); i, urosome (dorsal; scale bar: Y); j, left Mxp (scale bar: Y); k, P5 (scale bar: Z).

Nota: P5 with a faint line of segmentation on ventral surface of some specimens; outer basal seta.

Distribution map of Oncaea illgi by geographical zones
Loc:
Antarct. (SW Pacif.), sub-Antarct. (SW Pacif.), NE Pacif. (45°N, 139°W)
N: 2
Lg.:
(679) F: 0,88-0,81; M: 0,72; (848) F: 0,76-0,79; {F: 0,76-0,88; M: 0,72}
