The mean female size is 4.916 mm (n = 9; SD = 0.6531) and the mean male size is 4.458 mm (n = 5; SD = 0.4218). The size ratio (male : female) is about 0.91.
Rem.: meso-bathypelagic. Known to occur from about 150 to below 1200 m (Matthews, 1972). Sargasso Sea: 500-2000 m (Deevey & Brooks, 1977, Station "S");
W. Zhang confirms the presence of this species in the Chinese Seas (pers. comm., 2006).
