Exopodite 7-segmented. Exopodite of Md4-segmented, endopodite 2-segmented; the upper end of the biting part of the mandible with 2 spinifoom teeth, the mower end with a short stout and densely plumose. Mx2 with the spines on the apical portion, long and curved, the distal portion of the spines slightly flattened, and the inner marginfringed with fine short hairs. Nota: P5 differ from Sars' figure in that this specimen has a thickened, internal seta on the basipodal segment 2 of the right leg, where Sars shows no seta. This species is most readily distinguished from bathypontia (= Temorites) minor Wolfenden, 1906, by the angular shape of the posterolateral corner of the cephalothorax.

Nota: The male resembles to T. similis, but have the characteristics P5 of T. spinifera (Scott, 1909, Pl.3, Fig.15), with a brunch of hairs on the inner side of the 2nd basipod segment of the right leg, and the partially fused 1st and 2nd exopodite segments proportionately much shorter tha in the T. similis male right leg.

For A. Scott (1909, p.184) this species is very closesely related to Temorites elongata (Sars, 1905), as Bathypontia elongata, but the P5 male is quite distinct.
