Nota: Each side of head with one obtusely pointed protrusion. Furca nearly as long as abdomen, 10 to 11 times longer than wide.

Species Lucicutia bella - Plate 2 of morphological figuresIssued from : K. Hülsemann in Bull. Mar. Sc., 1966, 16 (4). [p.78, Figs.10-13].
Male: 10, urosome (dorsal); 11, P5.

Species Lucicutia bella - Plate 3 of morphological figuresIssued from : K. Hülsemann in Bull. Mar. Sc., 1966, 16 (4). [p.720, Figs.76-77].
Female: 76, urosome (dorsal); 77, P5.
Nota: genital segment laterally swollen. Anal segment longer than preceding segment.2nd basipodal segment of P1 with tube-like protrusion. Terminal spine of P5 3/5 the length of the 3rd exopodal segment.

Species Lucicutia bella - Plate 4 of morphological figuresIssued from : K. Hülsemann in Bull. Mar. Sc., 1966, 16 (4). [p.724, Fig.98].
Male: 98, head (dorsal).

Species Lucicutia bella - Plate 5 of morphological figuresLucicutia bella female: 1 - Characters following not combined : Prosome about 3 times longer than urosome. Cephalosome with slightly projecting and rounded anterior corners and well developed lateral spinous projections; anal somite about as long as wide; caudal rami 11.7 times longer than wide and bowed outwards at base, leaving elliptical space between rami proximally.
2 - P1 with 3-segmented endopod.
3 - Cephalosome with 1 pair lateral spinous projections.
4 - Genital double-somite symmetrical (dorsal view).
5 - Anal somite much shorter than caudal ramus.
6 - P5 with 3-segmented endopod.
7 - Characters not combined between distal 3 to 4 segments of A1 reaching beyond tip of caudal ramus and body length less than 3mm.
8 - Cephalosome with 1 pair of obtusly pointed lateral projections; anal somite longer and narrower than preceding somite.
9 - Caudal rami 10 to 11 times longer than wide; terminal setal element of P5 more than half length of 3rd exopodal segment.

Species Lucicutia bella - Plate 6 of morphological figuresLucicutia bella male:
1 - P1 with 3-segmented endopod.
2 -Cephalosome with 1 pair of obtusely pointed or rounded lateral projections.
3 - A1 reaching to tip of caudal rami or extending 1 to 2 segments beyond.
4 - Caudal rami as long as urosomal somites.

Rem.: bathypelagic. Overall Depth Range in Sargasso Sea: 500-1500 m (Deevey & Brooks, 1977, Station "S");
For Hülsemann (1966, p.707) this species is distinguished from L. pellucida and L. pallida by its slender furca, from L. major by the long anal segment, and from L. sarsi by the obtusely pointed head armature.
