Minnonectes melodactylus  Fosshagen & Iliffe, 2004   (F, M)
Ref.:
Fosshagen & Iliffe, 2004 (p.128, Descr.M, figs.M); 2007 (p.88, Descr.F, figs.F)
Espèce Minnonectes melodactylus - Planche 1 de figures morphologiquesissued from : A. Fosshagen & T.A. Iliffe in Sarsia, 2004, 89. [p.129, Fig.7].
Male (from Bahamas): A, habitus (lateral); B, Caudal rami (dorsal); C, rostrum (ventral); D, A1; E, labrum; F, A2; G, Md; H, Mx1; I, Mx2.

Nota : Body with ratio of prosome legth to urosome length 2 :1. Rostrum with 2 large processes far apart, each slightly rounded at tip and bearing long filament subdistally. Cephalosome and 1st pedigerous somite fused dorsally. Urosome 5-segmented, with only trace of anal somite ventrally. Dorsal posterior margin of 4th urosomite with undulate frill. Caudal rami apparently symmetrical and with plumose setae ; seta II long and slender, seta V longer than length of urosome.
Right A1 24-segmented with segments II-IV partially separated ; modified setae on proximal part up and including segment VII.
A2 with exopod slightly longer than endopod ; exopod indistinctly 8-segmented with segments 2 and 3 partially separated.
Labrum ornamented along margin from middle towards outer part with 3 to 4 coarse teeth, outermost teeth largest and with adjacent cylindrical projection, then cluster of spinules, scattered setules and 1 short cylindrical projection.
Md with gnathobase bearing strong bifid ventral-most tooth ; row of 4 major teeth and additional minor teeth connected, and dorsal unipinnate seta ; palp with much reduced 1-segmented endopod with 2 setae ; exopod normally developed.
Mx1 : praecoxal arthrite with 13 setal elements plus 3 short stout processes ; coxal endite and basal endites with 3, 2 and 1 setae, relatively, proximal basal endite elongate : coxal epipodite with 6 setae ; endopod with 2 small setae along inner margin and 4 terminal setae ; exopod slender with 8 unequal setae distributed evenly along outer margin, subterminal seta very small.
Mx2 : rounded endites on syncoxa and bearing relatively short and flexible setae, proximal endite with 4 setae and 1 short process ; basis with 4 setae and 1 short process ; basis with with 4 setae of unequal length and with different ornamentation ; endopod with 11 elements, of which 4 to 5 setae very long and strong, highly modified with black club-shaped rounded tips, fine setules along most of their length and with some proximal spinules.

Espèce Minnonectes melodactylus - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesissued from : A. Fosshagen & T.A. Iliffe in Sarsia, 2004, 89. [p.131, Fig.8].
Male: A, Mxp; B-F, P1 to P5.

Nota : Mxp : minute seta on praecoxal endite, long setae on coxa smooth, 1 small seta on distal endite with bulbous base ; basis with 3 setae, proximal and distal ones of suequal length, middle seta short ; endopod appatrently 4-segmented with fusion of first two segments ; long seta on ancestral 1st segment with black, smooth and rounded distal part ; 7 long and strong setae along endopod modified in distal part, black, broadened, lamellate and with rounded tip.
P5 with both rami 3-segmented ; slightly asymmetrical.

Espèce Minnonectes melodactylus - Planche 3 de figures morphologiquesissued from : A. Fosshagen & T.A. Iliffe in Mar. Biol. Res., 2007, 3. [p.87, Fig.8, E-H].
Female (from Great Exuma Is.: Bahamas): E, habitus (lateral); F, caudal rami (dorsal); G, A1; H, P5.
