Position and size of eye lenses in Labidocera kuwaitiana: A-C, males (dorsal view); D, female (dorsal view).
See: http://booksandjournals.brillonline.com/content/journals/15685403.

Nota: Eye lenses were usually small and widely spaced in females and varying in size from small to large and more closely spaced in males;
The eye-lens' diameter in females ranged within fairly narrow limits, from 41 to 55 µm (mean ± SD = 46 ± 3µm, n = 19), while the male eye-lens' diameter varied within a wide range from 47 to 109 µm (mean ± SD = 83 ± 24 µm, n = 28). There are no correlation between eye-lens' diameter and total body lenth in the examined females and males. The distance between lens' centres in females ranged from 152 to 206 µm (mean ± SD = 177 ± 13 µm, n = 19), while in males the range was 98-127 µm (mean ± SD = 111 ± 10 µm, n = 28).

Rem.: For Prusova & Al-Yamani (2014, p.1163) this species belongs ''darwinii'' species group. The species shows resemblance to L. acutifrons. L. kuwaitiana differs from the other species of the 'darwinii' group in having a dorsal process (arrowed in fig. 1A, B, C, E) at the genital double-somite in the female (none of the other females of the 'darwinii' group) and having enlarged toothed process of segments XXI-XXIII in the prehensile antennule in the male (in L. kuwaitiana, toothed process of segments XXI-XXIII in the prehensile antennule extends to distal 1/7 of segment XXIV, whereas in all the other 'darwinii' group members this process is substantially shorter).

Diagnosis for L. kuwaitiana in the 'darwinii' species group after Prusova & Al-Yamani (2014, p.1165) :
Females:
- 1: Urosome of 3 somites.
- 2: Genital somite asymmetrical, caudal rami of approximately equal length.
- 3: Caudal rami asymmetrical, partly fiused to anal somite.
- 4: Genital somite with dorsal triangle process extending dorsally, genital pore dorsal; right P5 exopod with 3 terminal points, left P5 exopod with 2 nearly equal apical processes and 1 small sub-distal outer spine.- 1: Urosome of 5 somites.
- 2: Prosome posterior corners symmetrical.
- 3: Left P5 endopod, if fully extended, extends beyond distal border of exopodal segment 1, and terminates in thin elongate appendix laciniate at its apex; right A1 segment's XXI-XXIII toothed process extends to distal 1/7 of segment XXIV.
