 Aetideus mexicanus female: 1 - Posterior corners of last thoracic segment prolonged into points. 2 - Posterior corners not prolonged into wing-like lobes: points not reaching the middle of urosomal degment 2. Anterior part of cephalon without crest. 3 - Basipodite of right P1 with an external tooth-like projection distally. Coxopodite of P4 without spinules near the base of internal seta. 4 - Posterior corners of last thoracic segment not divergent, usually not exceeding posterior border of genital segment. Rostral excavation 1.07-1.16 times as wide as deep.

 Aetideus mexicanus male: 1 - Posterior corners of last thoracic segment with points. 2 - Points not eceeding posterior border of urosomal segment 2 (in dorsal view). 3 - 2nd segment of P5 3.34-4.2 times as long as wide. 4 - Endopodite of P2 not exceeding border between exopodal segments 2 and 3. External spine at exopodal segment 2 of P1 not exceeding the middle of exopodal segment 1.
