B = basis; l = left leg; r = right leg.

Female characters (from key, p. 1959):
- Cephalosome without lateral hooks.
- Forehead without crest, rounded in dorsal view.
- Corners of the last thoracic segment into long points, without posterior lobes.
- Exopodite of P5 with 3 terminal points, inermost smallest and middle one largest.

Male characters (from key, p.959):
- Basis of left P5 with short process.
- Right P5 with exopodite 3 length about half width of exopodite 1-2.

Rem.: epipelagic, coastal and also brackish.
Diagnosis for L. scotti in the 'darwinii' species group after Prusova & Al-Yamani (2014, p.1165) :
Females:
- 1: Urosome of 3 somites.
- 2: Genital somite symmetrical, right caudal ramus nearly twice the length of left ramus.
Males:
- 1: Urosome of 5 somites.
- 2: Prosome posterior corners asymmetrical, right corner longer or modified.
- 3: Prosome posterior corners moderately asymmetrical, pointed, right single prong longer and curving ventrad.
