Sampling localities, size and morphological variation of Heteramalla sarsi Roe, 1975.Nota: Female specimens described from the North Pacific, generally agreewith Sars' (1924-25) description of his Atlantic specimens, except that they lack a seta on inner lobe 2 of Mx1 (this feature conforms with Roe's, 1975 Atlantic specimens, but possibly it is a variable feature in this species) and bear 1 plumose and 1 aesthetasc-like seta on inner lobe 3 of Mxp syncoxa (feature described by Vyshvartzeva for the first time). Sars did not describe Mxp, but the illustration shows only 1 seta with a tapering tip, which is transformed in the Pacific sample by a aesthetasc-like seta on inner lobe 3. There are some other discrepancies in the descriptions of H. sarsi.
It should be mentioned that Massuti Alzamora (1940) misindentified another species as 'Heteramalla dubia'; actually, his material fits neither H. sarsi nor Scopalatum dubium.
