Distribution map of Scaphocalanus subelongatus by geographical zones
Loc:
NW Pacif., off SE Hokkaido, Japan (NE), Bering Sea (Aleutian Basin)
N: 5
Lg.:
(22) F: 2,5; {F: 2,50}
Rem.: bathy-abyssopelagic.
Genus poorly assured but probable.
For Brodsky (1967, p.255) this species resembles Scaphocalanus elongatus A. Scott, but may be distinguished by its smaller size and the different length proportions of the bristle and spine and the segments of P5 female.
