Species Monstrilla longiremis - Plate 8 of morphological figuresissued from : G.O. Sars in An Account of the Crustacea of Norway, with short descriptions and figures of all the species, 1921 a, 8. [Pl. IV].
Female (from Christiana Fjord: N Kvalø). Urs, urosome (dorsal).

Nota: Natatory legs resembling in structure those in M. longicornis, but differing in the presence of only a single denticle inside the 2nd basal segment (Basis), and in the total absence of any crenulations on the outer dege of the terminal segment of exopod.
Oral tubule rather small, occuring about inthe middle of the cephalic segment

Species Monstrilla longiremis - Plate 9 of morphological figuresissued from : G.O. Sars in An Account of the Crustacea of Norway, with short descriptions and figures of all the species, 1921a, 8. [Pl. V].
Male (from Christiana Fjord: N Kvalø). Urs, urosome (ventral and lateral, respectively).

Nota: Cephalic segment nearly perfectly cylindrical in shape and exceeding somewhat in length the remaining part of the body.
Urosome 4-segmented, as in the male of M. longicornis, with the copulative appendage of a very similar structure.
caudal rami each with 4 setae

Species Monstrilla longiremis - Plate 10 of morphological figuresissued from : E. Suarez-Morales in Zootaxa, 2010, 2510. [p.64, Fig.5].
Male (from Kvalø, Norway): A, cephalothorax (lateral, with anterior cephalic process arrowed); B, right A1; C, section of left A1 (dorsal view); D, distal section of same (ventral view); E, first three segments of left A1; F, detail of oral papilla and nipple-like process; G, urosome including 5th pediger (P5 omitted), genital somite with genital lappets, and two free somites (ventral view).
Scale bars: A = 0.5 mm; B, E, G = 0.1 mm; F = 0.05 mm.

Species Monstrilla longiremis - Plate 11 of morphological figuresissued from : E. Suarez-Morales in Zootaxa, 2010, 2510. [p.65, Fig.6].
Male:A, urosome with 5th pedigerous somite (lateral ); B, same (oblique lateral view); C, coxa and basipod of P2; D, detail of inner spiniform basipodal process; E, right P5; F, left P5; G, section of exopod of P1; H, detail of ornamentation of distal exopodal spiniform seta on P1; I, endopod of P1; J, endopod of P2; K, exopod of P2; L, exopod of P4.
Scale bars: A, B, C, G-I = 0.1 mm; D-F, H = 0.03 mm.

Species Monstrilla longiremis - Plate 12 of morphological figuresIssued from : T. Scott in Rep. Fishery Bd Scotl., 1902, 20 (3). [Pl. XXV, Figs. 3-4].
Female (from May Island, Firth of Forth, Scotland): 3, habitus (dorsal); 4, P5.

Nota: The setae of A1 did not show the branched structure exhibed in Giesbrecht's figure (but perhaps not seen); with exception of an articulation near the base, the segments are very indistinct.
Abdomen with 4 segments, but the articulation between the first and second not very marked, the 3rd and 4th short and distinct.
Caudal rami each with 5 setae.
Each branch of P5 furnished with 3 apical setae, the inner one being much shorter than the other two, and a 4th seta springs from the inner margin.

Rem.: For Sars (1921 a, p.14) this species is unquestionally the same as that recorded by Giesbrecht from the Mediterranean Sea. The present form shows a near relationship to M. longicornis.
