Monstrilla papilliremis Isaac, 1975 (M) | |
| | | | | | Ref.: | | | Isaac, 1975 b (p.165, figs.M); Grygier, 1995 a (p.44, 73) | issued from : M.J. Isaac in Zool. Afr., 1975, 10 (2). [p.164, Fig.1]. Male (from Richard's Bay, South Africa): A, habitus (dorsal); B, 2nd to 4th urosomal segments and caudal rami (dorsal); C, right A1; D, 5th thoracic segment and abdomen (lateral); E, genital region (ventral). D & E same scale as B. Nota: A1 5-segmented, about 1.2 times the length of the cephalothorax, articulation between the two end segments; the end segment bears 3 bifurcating vibrissae on its outer edge, and at the tip 2 spines, one of which is possibily articulated. Cephalothorax is about half the body length, with the 'mouth' halg-way along the ventral side (position marked in dotted line in fig. A). P5 represented by 2 small knobs, one of which bears a short seta. The genital segment bears a short protuberance ventrally, which reaches as far as half-way along the 2nd abdominal segment; the genital protuberance has a small, blunt, twisted, spine-like process at the tip of both lappets, and a small pointed knob on the anterior tip. Each caudal ramus bears 5 setae, of similar lengths, 3 apically or subapically, one 0.6 and the other 0.5 of the way back from the tip, on the outer edge.
