Ref.:
Ohtsuka & al., 1998 (p.416, figs.F, juv.M, fig.7: chart)
Species Platycopia compacta - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : S. Ohtsuka, H.Y. Soh & H. Ueda in Zool. Sc., 1998, 15; [p.417, Fig.1].
Female (from Kuchino Is., S Japan): A, habitus (dorsal); B, idem (lateral left side, intermaxillipedal process arrowed); C, rostrum; D, urosome (ventral, gonopores arrowed); E, anal somite and caudal rami (dorsal); F, intermaxillipedal process (ventral view).
Scale bars in mm.
Nota: Cephalosome and 1st pedigerous somite incompletely fused, 4th and 5th separate. Rostrum without filaments at tip. Urosome 5-segmented. Genital somite small (almost concealed beneath dorsal extension of 5th pedigerous somite, paired llit-like gonopores (arrowed in fig.1D). 1st to 3rd abdominal somites with postero margin finely striated; 3rd abdominal somite protruded dorsoposteriorly into w-shaped plate covering anus; 4th abdominal somite prominent ventroposteriorly. Caudal rami symmetrical, each with triangular dorsal process.

Species Platycopia compacta - Plate 2 of morphological figures issued from : S. Ohtsuka, H.Y. Soh & H. Ueda in Zool. Sc., 1998, 15; [p.418, Fig.2].
Female: A, A1; B, A2; C, Md (mandibular cutting edge); D, Md (mandibular palp); E, Mx1 (basal exite arrowed); F, Mx2.
Scale bars in mm.
A1 23-segmented. A2 with unarmed coxa and basis; endopod with 1st segment completely fused to basis (allobasis), 2nd and 3rd segments incompletely coalesced with 3 and 7 setae, respectively; exopod indistinctly 7-segmented (setal formula: 1, 0, 1, 1, 2, 1, 4). Cutting edge of Md with 1 monocusped tooth and 4 bisusped teeth; mandibular palp with unarmed basis, endopod 1-segmented with 7 terminal setae, exopod 4-segmented, with 0, 2, 1, 2 setae, respectively. Mx1 well developed; praecoxal arthrite with 6 stout, multicusped spines and 6 setae (2 setae of which being originated from center of anterior surface); coxal endite with 3 setae; basal exite (arrowed in fig.2E) lobate with 2 setae of unequal length; proximal basal endite with 3 terminal spinulose setae; distal basal endite probably represented by a knob with 2 unequal setae; both rami completely incorporated into basis, with 4 setae. Mx2 stout, 2 praecoxal, 2 coxal and 1 basal endites with 4, 1, 3, 3, 3 setae, respectively, 1 seta each on 2nd coxal endite and on basal endite fused to segment; 1st endopod segment completely fused to basis (represented by 1 spiniform seta); 2nd to 4th segments with 1 spiniform seta, 3rd and 4th segments with 1 and 2 setae, respectively, in aaddition to spiniform seta.

Species Platycopia compacta - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : S. Ohtsuka, H.Y. Soh & H. Ueda in Zool. Sc., 1998, 15; [p.419, Fig.3].
