Species Card of Copepod
Cyclopoida ( Order )
    Oncaeidae ( Family )
        Oncaea ( Genus )
Oncaea damkaeri  Heron, 1977   (F,M)
Ref.:
Heron, 1977 (p.62, figs.F,M); Heron & al., 1984 (p.466); Heron & Frost, 2000 (p.1040, figs.F, tab.2, 3)
Species Oncaea damkaeri - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1041, Fig.14, H].
Female (from NE Pacific): H, pediger 4 posterior corner, segment of P5 and genital segment (lateral; scale bar: x).
Scale bars: 0.1 mm, see figures 3, 4, 5, 10 of Heron and Frost, 2000 for Oncaea canadensis and Oncaea insolita.

Nota: P5 of this species distinguishes it from other similar species, with the length of the terminal, longer spiniform seta exceeding the length of the P5 segment and measuring more than twice the length of the shorter seta

Species Oncaea damkaeri - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1022, Fig.2, B].
Female: P2-P4 endopod terminal ''spine set'' (combination of the lengths, shapes, and position of the three or two terminal spines on the endopods of swimming legs 2-4, from left to right in figure, for different Oncaea' species).

Nota: endopods of P3 and P4 with subterminal spines extending to about midway of terminal spines.

Species Oncaea damkaeri - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron in Antarct. Res. Ser. Washington, 1977, 26. [p.66, Fig.17].
Female (from SW Pacific-Antarctic area): a, habitus (lateral; scale bar: X); b, posterior of last prosomal segment and urosome (lateral; scale bar: Y); c, urosome (dorsal; scale bar: Y); d, right A2 (scale bar: Y); e, labrum (scale bar: Z); f, left Md (scale bar: Z); g, right Mx1 (scale bar: Z); h, left Mx2 (scale bar: Z); i, left Mxp (scale bar: Y); j-m, P1 to P4 (scale bar: Y); n, P5 (scale bar: Z).

Species Oncaea damkaeri - Plate 4 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Heron in Antarct. Res. Ser. Washington, 1977, 26. [p.667, Fig.18, a-e].
Male: a, habitus (lateral; scale bar: X); b, posterior of last prosomal segment and urosome (lateral; scale bar: Y); c, urosome (dorsal; scale bar: Y); d, right Mxp (scale bar: Y); e, P5 (scale bar: Z).
