Lutamator elegans  Alvarez, 1984   (F)
Ref.:
Alvarez, 1984 (p.99, Descr.F, figs.F); Markhaseva, 1996 (p.231, figs.F); Bradford-Grieve & al., 1999 (p.879, 919, figs.F)
Species Lutamator elegans - Plate 1 of morphological figuresIssued from : M.A. Jimenez Alvarez inBolm. Zool. Univ,. S. Paulo, 1984, 8. [p.101, Figs.13-19]
Female (from 21°37'S, 40°03'W): 13-14, habitus (lateral and dorsal, respectively; 15-16, forhead with rostrum (ventral and lateral, respectively); 17-18, urosome (dorsal and lateral, respectively); 19, A1.

Nota: Cephalon and 1st pedigerous segment fused, 4th and 5th thoracic segments fused.
Rostrum short and rounded.
Relation prosome : urosome = 74 : 26.
Last thoracic sement ending in a small posterior point.
Urosome 4-segmented; 3rd and 4th segments fringed with very fine setules; proportional lengths of segments and caudal rami 45.8 : 18.1 : 12.5 : 9.7 : 13.9 = 100.
A1 24-segmented, reaching the posterior end of metasome.

Species Lutamator elegans - Plate 2 of morphological figuresIssued from : M.A. Jimenez Alvarez inBolm. Zool. Univ,. S. Paulo, 1984, 8. [p.102, Figs.20-24]
Female: 20, A2; 21, Md; 22, Md (mandibular gnathobase); 23, Mx1; 24, Mx2.

Nota: A2 with endopod of same length as exopod. 1st segment of endopod much wider in proximal than in distal region Last segment of exopod long and much thinner than preceding ones.
basipod of Md without setae and with very reduced endopod. Mandibular gnathobase with 1 setose seta, 7 teeth and some tufts of small setules.
Mx1 with 8 setae on 1st external lobe; 11 plumose setae on exopod; 12 setae on 1st internal lobe; 5 setae on 2nd internal lobe; 1 short seta and 1 very long and strong seta on 3rd internal lobe; 4 setae on basipod and 7 long setae and 4 short ones on endopd. Ventral face of 1st and 2nd internal lobes with some groups of little spines, near to the insertion of setae.
Mx2 robust with 3 strong setae in each of its 5 lobes. On ventral face of 4 first lobes tufts of spinules near the superior margin.

Species Lutamator elegans - Plate 3 of morphological figuresIssued from : M.A. Jimenez Alvarez inBolm. Zool. Univ,. S. Paulo, 1984, 8. [p.103, Figs.25-30]
Female: 25, Mxp; 26, P1; 27, P2; 28, P3; 29, P4; 30, distal spine on the exopod of P2.

Nota:
Mxp well developed and robust. Median region of 2nd basipod with 3 setae, of which one is very fine and 2 longer and ornamented with a series of numerous and very short setules.
Exopods of P1-P4 bear laminar spines on their outer margins. From P2 to P4 there is a terminal laminar spine which is large and with an external chitin lamella, serrated; number of teeth of these spines varies in each leg (46, 50 and 54 respectively from P2 to P4).

Species Lutamator elegans - Plate 4 of morphological figuresLutamator elegans female:
1 - 2nd internal lobe of Mx1 with 5 setae and 3rd internal lobe with 2 setae.
