Female (from Red Sea): A, habitus (dorsal); B, idem (lateral left side); C, urosome (dorsal, setae V and VII on left side and setae IV-V on right side omitted); D, idem (lateral right side); E, A1; F, caudal ramus (dorsal, setae are numbered using Roman numerals); G, genital aperture; H, P5 (exopod, dorsal); I, idem (lateral).
Nota: Proportional lengths (%) of urosomites and caudal rami 7.2:54.6:5.1:5.1:15.0:13.0. Relative lengths (%) of segments of A1 measured along posterior non-setigerous margin 8.0:17.8:41.7:14.7:7.4:10.4. Anal somite about as wide as long, slightly shorter than caudal rami (measured along outer margin) or slightly longer than caudal rami (measured along inner margin). Caudal ramus 1.9 times longer than wide measured along inner margin and 2.3 times longer than wide measured along outer margin.

Spinoncaea tenuis is synonymous with Oncaea sp. K sensu Böttger-Schnack, Hagen & Schnack-Schiel, 2001 from the Red Sea.  Note that the Red Sea species Oncaea sp. K was erroneously named "O. prendeli" by Böttger-Schnack & Huys (1998).
