Nota : Prosome length 1.7 times width, 1.6 times urosome .
Forehead truncates anteriorly in dorsal view, in lateral view bent ventrally into blunt rostrum slightly acute anteroventrally. A1 short, , 0.7 times prosome.
Coxa and basis fused, with 1 inner seta near on distal end and 1 short small outer seta.
Basis of Md with 1 strong spinulose spine on distal end, and 1 inner and 1 outer marginal setae ; endopod small, oblong, with 5 setae.
Exopodal segments of P1-P4 with 1.1.3, 1.1.3, 1.1.3, 1.1.3 outer marginal spines ; proportional lengths of terminal spines to exopod 0.5, 0.5, 0.6, 0.6.
P5 with bifurcate lateral process bearing 1 seta on each branch.
Outer margin of caudal rami with lateral seta not extending end.

Species Oithona sp. - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : F.Y. Al-Yamani & I. Prusova in Common Copepods Northwestern Arabian Gulf : Identification Guide. Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, 2003. [p.109, Fig.41].
Male: J, habitus (dorsal); K, idem (lateral left side); L, A2; M, Md (mandibular palp).

Nota : Prosome length 1.8 times width, 1.5 times urosome.
Forehead broad truncated anteriorly in dorsal view, in lateral view bent ventrally into blunt ostrum, a little acute anteroventrally.
A2, Md, P1-P5 as in female.

Species Oithona sp. - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : Y. Al-Yamani, V. Skryabin, A. Gubanova, S. khvorov & I. Prusova in Marine Zooplankton Practical Guide for the Northwestern Arabian Gulf, 2, 2011. [p.103, Fig.246];
Female (from Kuwait): a-b, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively).

Species Oithona sp. - Plate 4 of morphological figuresissued from : Y. Al-Yamani, V. Skryabin, A. Gubanova, S. khvorov & I. Prusova in Marine Zooplankton Practical Guide for the Northwestern Arabian Gulf, 2, 2011. [p.103, Fig.247].
Male: habitus (dorsal).

Rem.: For Al-Yamani & Prusova the specimens, both females and males, are very similar to O. simplex Farran,1913 in a body and rostrum shape, Md and P1-P4 armature. Present specimens are distinguished from O. simplex by their bigger size, proportional lengths of prosome and urosome and in basipod 1 of A2 with 1 short small seta on outer margin both in female and in male.
