Pseudodiaptomus poppei  Stingelin, 1900   (F,M)
Syn.: Schmackeria poppei : Marsh, 1933 (p.46, figs.F,M)
Ref.:
Stingelin, 1900 (p.200, Descr.F,M, figs.F,M); Srinui & al., 2013 (p.30); Ohtsuka & Nishida, 2017 (p.575, Rem.)
Species Pseudodiaptomus poppei - Plate 1 of morphological figuresIssued from : T. Stingelin in Rev. Suisse Zool., 1900, 8. [Taf.14, figs.6, 7].
Female (from Makassar): 6, posterior segments of prosome and genital segment (lateral); 7, A2.

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment fused;
Urosome 4-segmented; the first 3 segments with spines on their distal borders.
A1 22-segmented

Species Pseudodiaptomus poppei - Plate 2 of morphological figuresIssued from : T. Stingelin in Rev. Suisse Zool., 1900, 8. [Taf.14, figs.8-10].
Female: 8, P5.
Nota: 1st exopodal segment with a rather stout outer spine and a marked projection of the inner distal angle; 2nd segment has an elongated terminal hook with a hook-shaped branch at its base, a stout terminal spine, and a small leteral spine.

Male:9, right P5; 10, left P5.
Nota: In right P5, esxopod -3-segmented; 1st segment has a spinous projection, which is as long as the 2nd segment; 2nd segment with a short spine at the distal third of the outer border; 3rd segment irregularly curved and about equal in length to the 2nd segment; terminal hook short, nearly straight, and its sides armed with short hairs. 2nd segment of basipod (basis) of the left leg with two processes extending distad to about the end of the 1st segment of exopod; one process is spatulate and the other pointed. 1st exopodal segment with 1 spine at its outer distal angle; 2nd exopodal segment longer than the 1st, irregular in outline and lobed at the distal end; it has a stout dentate spine about midway of the outer border, a group of hairs about midxay of its inner border, and, at the end, 5 short curved spines.

Ohtsuka & Nishida (2017, p.575) point to a comprehensive speciation pattern was proposed for the Indo-Pacific coastal L. pectinata species complex, based on vicariant events in accord with eustatic changes in sea level during the Pleistocene (< - 2.6 million years)) (Flemi,ger, 1986), such a vicariant mechanism is applicable to P. poppei) species subgroup.
