Species Pseudochirella cryptospina - Plate 1 of morphological figuresIssued from : G.O. Sars in Résult. Camp. Scient. Prince Albert I, 69, pls.1-127 (1924). [Pl.XXIV, figs.13-14].
juvenil Female: 13, habitus (dorsal); 14, posterior segment cephalothorax and 1st urosomal segment (lateral left side).

Occurrences: 31°06'N, 24°06'45''W; 36°17'N, 28°53'W; 36°46'N, 26°41'W; 43°04'30''N, 19°42'W; 45°28'N, 5°43'W.

Species Pseudochirella cryptospina - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : G.P. Farran in Fish. Ire. Sci. Invest., 1906, II [1908]. [Pl. II, Figs.4-8]. As Gaidius parvispinus.
Female (from W Ireland): 4, habitus (dorsal); 5, 5th thoracic segment (lateral); 6, P1; 7, P2; 8, Mxp.
Nota: P2 with 3-segmented exopodite, but the articulation between the 1st and 2nd segments is incomplete; the terminal spine of the 2rd segment is very finely serrulate; the endopodite is 1-segmented, but with a faint transverse line marking the fusion of the two original segments. P5 undeveloped, and consist on either side of two basal segments and a finger-and-thumb like exopodite and endopodite.

Distribution map of Pseudochirella cryptospina by geographical zones
Loc:
E Atlant. (temperate & boreal), off E Cape Cod, off Morocco-Mauritania, Canary Is., Azores, Bay of Biscay, off W Ireland, Greenland, Faroe Is., Medit., (W Basin) off SW Sri Lanka, NE Indian, N Chile
N: 11 (?)
Lg.:

Rem.: Bathypelagic.
Farran (1908 b, p.35) considers the immature form as being of undifferentiated sex which, for purposes of comparison, may be regarded as female, even an undeveloped P5 are present.
Vervoort (1952 g) and Markhaseva (1996) are not in agreement about the synonymy of Chirudina parvispina of With (1915) with this species.
