Pertsovius fjordicus  (Fosshagen, 1967)   (F,M)
Syn.: Disco fjordicus Fosshagen, 1967 (p.314, figs.F,M); Schulz, 1993 (p.200, figs.F, Rem.); Schulz, 2003 (p.110, Rem.); Boxshall & Halsey, 2004 (p.108, 109: fig.M)
Ref.:
Andronov & Kosobokova, 2011 (p.38, Rem.)
Species Pertsovius fjordicus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : K. Schulz in Mitt. Hamb. Zool. Mus. Inst., 1993, 90. [p.201, Fig.2 A-K]. With doubt.
Female (from Bay of Biscay): A, habitus (dorsal); B, idem (lateral left side); C, rostrum (ventral view); D, A2; E, Md (masticatory blade); F, Mx1; G, Mxp; H, P1; I, P2; J, P3; K, P4.
Scale bars = 0.100 mm.

Species Pertsovius fjordicus - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : A. Fosshagen in Sarsia, 1967, 29. [p.315, Fig.4].
Female (from 60°2'30''N, 5°58'E): A-B, habitus (lateral and dorsal, respectively); C, rostrum (ventral view).

Nota: Rostrum large and obtusely rounded. 4th and 5th thoracic segments fused and rounded posteriorly. Urosome 4-segmented. Anal segment as long as the preceding segment. Caudal rami with 4 setae of unequal size.

Species Pertsovius fjordicus - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : A. Fosshagen in Sarsia, 1967, 29. [p.316, Fig.5].
Female: A, A1; B, A2; C, Md; D, Mx1; E, Mx2; F, Mxp; G, P1; H, P2; I, P3; J, P4.

Nota: A1 25-segmented, reaching slightly beyond genital segment. A2: exopod longer than endopod; exopod 8-segmented, with 5 setae on inner border; endopod with prominent anterior part. Md: denticulate process with few spine-like teeth; exopod 4-segmented; endopod with 2 segments of nearly same length. Mx1: well-developed, with 6 lobes all furnished with setae; inner lobe with 6 masticatory spines; endopod with 8 setae. Mx2: 5 lobes with plumose setae; endopod with 1 plumose and 3 smooth setae. Mxp: moderately strong with few coarsely plumose setae along inner margin; endopod 5-segmented with 1 strong seta terminally; the 3 innermost segments of endopod carry fine spines on inner margin. Basipod of all swimming legs devoid of setae. P5 absent.

Species Pertsovius fjordicus - Plate 4 of morphological figuresissued from : A. Fosshagen in Sarsia, 1967, 29. [p.317, Fig.6].
Male: A-B, habitus (lateral and dorsal, respectively); C, distal part of left A1; D, Md; E, Mx1; F, Mx2; G, Mxp; H, P1; I, endopod and exopod of P2; J, P4 (terminal spine on exopod missing); K, P5.

Nota: head and 1st thoracic segment partly fused. Urosome 5-segmented. Left A1 geniculate, 20-segmented, sensory organs on each segment along the whole antenna. A2 and Md much as in female. Mx1, Mx2 and Mxp reduced. P5 biramous; right leg slightly longer than the left; both exopods 3-segmented, both endopods 2-segmented.

NZ: 1 + 1 doubtful

Distribution map of Pertsovius fjordicus by geographical zones
Loc:
SW Norway, ? Bay of Biscay (in Schulz, 1993)
N: 2
Lg.:
(366) F: 0,56-0,49; M: 0,51; ? (367) F: 0,44; {F: 0,49-0,56; M: 0,51}
Rem.: Mesopelagic.
For Schulz (1993, p.200) the single specimen found in the Bay of Biscay closely resembles D. fjordicus Fosshagen (1967) in morphological details, but differs by the more oviform prosome, the shorter urosome, a more prominent rostral cone, and slightly differing lengths of the outer exopodal spines of P1 to P3.
