Pseudochirella gibbera  Vervoort, 1949   (F)
Ref.:
Vervoort, 1949 (p.41, Descr.F, figs.F); ? Grice & Hulsemann, 1967 (p.15, 24: Rem.); Bradford & Jillett, 1980 (p.66); Markhaseva, 1989 (p.39, fig.F); 1996 (p.264, figs.F, Notes: p.264)
Espèce Pseudochirella gibbera - Planche 1 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : W. Vervoort in Zool. Verh., Leiden, 1949, 5. [p.42, Fig.19].
Female (from 10°49'S, 123°59'E): a, head (dorsal); b, d, e, distal part of thorax and urosome (dorsal, lateral left side, lateral left side, respective); c, forehead (lateral); f, basal portion of P4, showing the spines on the 1st basal segment.

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment separated (the suture feeble and only pronounced on the dorsal surface), 4th and 5th separated. Cephalothorax 4.3 times longer than urosome. The last thoracic segment is asymmetrical in dorsal view. The abdominal segments and furca in the proportional lengths 45:17:14:8:16 = 100. A2: endopod about half the length of the exopod.

Espèce Pseudochirella gibbera - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : E.L. Markhaseva in USSR Acad. Sci., Zool. Inst., Explor. Fauna Seas. Marine Plankton, 1989, 41 (49). [p.53, Fig.17].
Female: Thoracic segment 5 and genital segment.
Nota from the key:
1 - Genital segment very asymmetrical.
2 - Right thoracic posterior corner with spine, left without spine;
3 - Body length about 5 mm.
4 - Genital segment on the right posteriorly with a large protuberance divided into two lobes.

Complement Female after Markhaseva (1996, p.264): Cephalothorax 4.3 times longer than urosome.
Posterior corners of last thoracic segment asymmetrical, left corner rounded, right one with spine.
Genital segment abruptly asymmetrical, much wider tha long; right side with large projection covered with hairs distally, with smaller projection on the left (dorsal view).
Oral parts similar to those in P. obtusa.
Exopodite of P1 3-segmented.
Endopodite of P2 (?) 1-segmented.
Coxopodite of P4 with 5 strong, pointed spines.

NZ: 1 + 1 douteuse

Carte de distribution de Pseudochirella gibbera par zones géographiques
Espèce Pseudochirella gibbera - Carte de distribution 2Issued from : E.L. Markhaseva in Issled. Fauny Morei, 1989, 41 (49). [p.59, Fig.17].
Geographical distribution of P. gibbera from Vervoort, 1949
Loc:
? W Indian, Indonesia (Timor Sea).

Type locality: 10°49'S, 123°59'E.
N: 2
Lg.:
(41) F: 5,5; {F: 5,50}
Rem.: After Markhaseva (1996, p.264) the specimens from Grice & Hulsemann (1967) attribued to the present species are doubtful, because the absence of spine on the right dorsal side of the 5th thoracic segment, as described by Vervoort (1949).
