Pseudochirella scopularis  (Sars, 1905)   (F)
Syn.: Undeuchaeta scopularis Sars, 1905 b (p.14, Rem.F)
Ref.:
Sars, 1925 (p.90, figs.F); Rose, 1933 a (p.111, figs.F); Sewell, 1948 (p.500); Vervoort, 1949 (p.46, figs.F); Bradford & Jillett, 1980 (p.67); Markhaseva, 1989 (p.39, fig.F); 1996 (p.289, figs.F); Vives & Shmeleva, 2007 (p.601, figs.F, Rem.)
Espèce Pseudochirella scopularis - Planche 1 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : W. Vervoort in Zool. Verh., Leiden, 1949, 5. [p. 47, Fig.21,a,b].
Female (from Moluccan Sea): a, urosome (lateral right side); b, idem (dorsal).

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment separated (the line is distinct on the dorsal surface only), 4th and 5th separated.
The abdominal segments and furca in the proportional lengths 37:25:21:10:7 = 100. A1 (24 free segments) reaches the distal margin of the abdominal segment.
A2: 2nd exopodal segment with 8 setae on the internal and 7 on the external lobe.
Mx1 with 5 setae on the 2nd basal segment and 15 on the endopod.
P2 has a very indistinctly 2-segmented endopod.
P4 with 9 slender spines on the posterior surface of the 1st basal segment.

Espèce Pseudochirella scopularis - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : E.L. Markhaseva in USSR Acad. Sci., Zool. Inst., Explor. Fauna Seas. Marine Plankton, 1989, 41 (49). [p.52, Fig.14].
Female: Thoracic segment 5 and genital segment.
Nota from the key:
1 - Genital segment slightly asymmetrical.
2 - Thoracic posterior corners prolonged into triangular lobes.

Complement from literature after Markhaseva (1996, p.289): Cephalothorax 3.5-4.0 times longer than urosome. Genital segment covered with hairs in its posterior part; the widest in its first half. A1 reaching the midlength of urosome (Sars, 1925), reaching the end of urosome (Vervoort, 1949). Oral parts and swimming legs are as in P. obtusa (Vervoort, 1949). Endopodite of P2 indistinctly 2-segmented. Coxopodite of P4 with 9 spines.

Espèce Pseudochirella scopularis - Planche 3 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : G.O. Sars in Résult. Camp. Scient. Prince Albert I, 69, pls.1-127 (1924). [Pl.XXV, figs.1-4].
Female (from Bay of Biscay-Azores): 1-2, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); 3, P1; basipodal segment (= coxa) of P4.

Nota: Head and 1st pedigerous segment separated by a weak suture mainly in dorsal view, 4th and 5th thoracic segments separated, this last with arched suture and triangular posterior lobes ending in acute angle.
Urosome about more than 1/4 prosome length; with posterior segments densely long hairies arranged in bundles.
Genital segment swollen before the middle, equal the length of the next three segments, little asymmetrical, the left side more than the right.
A1 reaching about the middle of the urosome.
Endopodite of P2 imperfectly articulated.
Coxa od P4 with 9 strong spines fan-shaped on the inner margin.
