Female (from Alboran Sea): 1, habitus (dorsal); 2, rostrum (lateral); 3, urosome; 4, last thoracic segment and urosome (lateral); 5-8, P1 to P4; 9, P5.

Male: 10, habitus (dorsal); 11, urosome; 12, P5.

Rem.: epipelagic (10-25 m).
Closely related to Calocalanus neptunus but differs from it by the structure P5 (in C. neptunus they are more powerful and end by 2 long spines whereas in C. vivesi by 1 small spine).
This species is dedicated by Shmeleva to Francisco Vives Galmès, who died in Majorca on 2 March 2015 {See Orbituary, Scientia Marina, 2015, 79 (2): 275-278].
