Figures

Plate 1 issued from : O. Tanaka in Publ. Sero Mar. Biol. Lab., 1960, VIII (1). [p.93, Fig.85].
Female (Suruga Bay, Japan): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (lateral); c, last thoracic segment and urosome (lateral left side); d, rostrum (anterior view); e, Mx2; f, P1; g, P2; h, endopod of P3; i, endopod of P4; j, P5.

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment fused, 4th and 5th incompletely fused (line of demarcation faintly visible in dorsal view).
Cephalothorax 2.05 mm; abdomen 0.55 mm.
Lateral distal margin of the last thoracic segment produced triangularly into a sharp point.
Rostrum strong in the basal, part, to which 2 slender filaments attached.
The abdominal segments and furca in the proportional lengths 40 : 22 : 16 : 9 : 13 = 100.
Genital segment, in ndorsal view, inflated toward the distal end; genital area hollowed.
The first 3 abdominal segments fringed withn fine teeth on the distal margin.
Caudal rami oblique, about as long as wide.
A2 exopodite longer than the endopodite (33 : 24).
Mx1 with 9 setae on the outer lobe, 10 setae on the exopodite, 3+2+2 setae on the endopodite, 5 setae on the 2nd basal segment.
Mx2 feeble; endopodite with small bud-like sensory setae.
P5 3-segmented, these 3 segments of about equal width. 2nd 2 times as long as wide, with hair-like spines on the anterior distal margin, and svattered spinules near the posterior distal margin; 3rd segment with 2 apical and 2 marginal spines, and bearing a longitudinal row of short spines on the posterior surface; 1st segme,t with denticles on the inner margin.
Plate 2 issued from : O. Tanaka in Publ. Sero Mar. Biol. Lab., 1960, VIII (1). [p. 93].
