Female (from off S Cap Cod): 23, habitus (lateral left side); 24, posterior end of prosome and urosome (lateral left side); 25, urosome (ventral); 26, rostrum (frontal view); 27, A2; 28, Md; 29, Mx1; 30, Mx2; 31, Mxp; 32, P1.

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment incompletely separated, 4th and 5th fused.

Male: 33, habitus (lateral left side); 34, A1; 35, A2; 36, Md; 37, Mx1; 39, Mxp; 40, P1; 41, P5.

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment fused, 4th and 5th fused. Rostrum with 2 points. A1 reaches the end of 2nd thoracic segment. P5 biramous; endopods absent; right P5 with lateral spines on 1st exopodal segment and on terminal segment.

1 - Rostrum with divergent rami.
2 - Points of last thoracic segment reaching and even exceeding posterior border of genital segment. Exopodal segment 2 of A2 with 3 setae. Exopodal segment 1 of P1 with external spine exceeding the base of external spine segment 2.
3 - Points of last thoracic segment turned up (lateral view).

1 - P5 uniramous.
2 - Right P5 nearly as long as left.
3 - A1 reaching the end of thoracic segment 2. Left A1 22-segmented with long (proximally) and short (distally) aesthetascs.

Loc:
NW Atlant. (off S Cape Cod), Norwegian Sea, Fensfjorden, off W Canary Is. (28-29° N, 28° W).

Type locality: 39°46'N, 70°34'W.

(213) F: 3,12; M: 3,25-3; (214) F: ± 2,55; M: ± 2,04; {F: 2,55-3,12; M: 2,04-3,25}
Rem.: bathypelagic (1465-1500 m), hyperbenthic.
This species is similar to B. spinifer Bradford, 1969, but is distinguished from it.
