Male (from Suruga Bay, Japan): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (lateral); c, last thoracic segment and urosome (lateral left side); d, 1st to 7th segments of A1; e, Mx1; f, Mx2; g, Mxp; h, P1; i, P2; j, P3; k, endopod of P4; l, 5th pair of of legs and distal joint of left leg.
Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment separate, 4th and 5th separate.
Rostrum bifurcate, gradually attenuates, and suddenly terminates into 2 fine filaments.
Cephalothorax is covered with minute spinules.
Distal margin of the last thoracic segment, in dorsal view, produced on each side into a sharp tooth; the ventro-lateral margin sinuate.
The abdominal segments and furca in the proportional lengths 16 : 33 : 22 : 14 : 5 : 10 = 100.
A2 exopodite 1.3 times as long as the endopodite.
Md with a large 2nd basal segment; exopodite as long as the endopodite; biting part feeble.
Mx1 slightly reduced; the spines on the 1st inner lobe much reduced; there is a conical process near the distal part of the outer lobe which carries 7 setae; exopod with 10 setae; endopod with 4+3+3 setae.
Mx2: endopod with 3 usual and 5 bud-like sensory setae. left P5 very long, terminal joint with 2 apical spines, inner margin furnised with long coarse hairs.
Mxp with a large 1st basal segment which is about as long as the 2nd basal; spinulation on the inner margin of the 1st basal segment poor.
P2 to P4 covered with minute spinules on the posterior surface of the endopod and exopod segments.
P5 5-segmented on each side. Left leg very long, about1.5 times as long as the combined lengths of the abdominal segments and caudal rami; terminal segment with 2 apical spines , of which one is longer; inner margin of the segment furnished with long coarse hairs near the distal end. Right leg short, extending only to the distal margin of the 1st segment of the left leg; the distal segment pointed at the apex.
