(M'Diq, Alboran Sea, NW Basin, Thau Lagoon, Ligurian Sea, Naples, Lake Faro (Sicily), Strait of Messina, G. of Gabes, Taranto Harbour, Adriatic Sea, Venezzia, Aegean Sea, Lebanon, Alexandria, Marmara Sea, Black Sea (rare), [Australia (New South Wales) (in Dakin & Colefax, 1933, p.206)] | | | N: | 29 | | | Lg.: | | | (46) F: 2,05-2; M: 1,7-1,65; (373) F: 2,4; (449) F: 2,05-2; M: 1,7-1,65; {F: 2,00-2,40; M: 1,65-1,70} | | | Rem.: | This species could be an example of exile to the Azores by the profound mediterranean current. Dakin & Colefax report the presence of this species in the Indian Ocean (reference neither recovered by Sewell nor by Razouls), this observation requires confirmation, like the one from Australia. Diagnosis for L. brunescens in the 'darwinii' species group after Prusova & Al-Yamani (2014, p.1165) : Females: - 1: Urosome of 3 somites. - 2: Genital somite asymmetrical, caudal rami of approximately equal length. - 3: Caudal rami symmetrical, or roughly symmetrical, separate from anal somite. - 4: Exopod of nearly symmetrical P5 with 1 terminal point, genital pore ventral. | | | Last update : 24/10/2022 | |
