Species Pontella forficula - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : A. Scott in Siboga-Expedition, 1909, XIX a. [Plate LIII, Figs.1-7].
Male (from Sulu Archipelago): 1, habitus (dorsal); 2, rostrum; 3, left A1; 4, right A1; 5, proximal marginal plate of right A1; 6, endopodite of P1; 7, P5.

Species Pontella forficula - Plate 2 of morphological figuresIssued from : Mulyadi in Treubia, 2002, 32. [p.99, Fig.33].
Male: a, habitus (dorsal); b, posterior thoracic segment and urosome (dorsal); c, rostrum (anterior view); d, rught A1; e, geniculate segment of right A1; f, P5.

Species Pontella forficula - Plate 3 of morphological figuresIssued from : B.H.R. Othman & T. Toda in Coastal Mar. Sci., 2006, 30 (1). [p.315, Fig.19].
Male (from Sister's Island, Singapore): A, habitus (dorsal); B, last thoracic segment and urosome (dorsal); C, P5.

Nota: Prosome to yrosome length ratio 3.35 : 1.
- Postero-lateral end of thorax rounded, somewhat symmetrical.
- Lateral cephalic hooks prominent.
- Urosome 5-segmented, naked.
- Caudal rami asymmetrical, right ramus longer.
- P5 asymmetrical; right leg, thumb of exopodal segment 1 prominent,3 long and spiniform, curved inwards distally with 1 long seta on base, without process on middle segment, exopodal segment 2 long and curved almost at right angle midway near the distal end with 1 apical and 2 unequal margibal spines; left leg with short coxa, basis with 1 long plumose seta, exopodal segment 1 with 1 spine at distal end, exopodal segment 2 curved and slender, bifurcate at apex, inner margin hirsute.

Loc:
Philippines (Sulu Sea, Jakarta Bay)

Type locality: Sulu Sea
Lg.:

Rem.: epipelagic. Neritic.
After Mulyadi (2011, p.1532-1533) the Scott's male of this species must be considered as the male of Ivellopsis elephas (Brady, 1883), and therefore Scott's (1909) species name has become unvalid.
