According to Fleminger (1957, p.25) the similarity between this species and P. polydactyla compels reconsiderartion of the former's records from the Gulf of mexico and the western Atlantic reported by C.B. Wilson (1932, 1942, 1950) and by King (1950). Vervoort (1965) puts doubts on certain of the locality records (noted by ?). The dimensions given by Marques (1951, 1957) F: 2,87 & 1,86-1,64 are very inferior to the types. Accordung to Brylinski (2009, p.256) the neustonic behaviour and patchy distribution (swarms) could explain why it is rarely observed in our net samples. | | | Last update : 24/10/2022 | |
