Male: forehead (dorsal); b, idem (right lateral side); c, A1 (clasping part); d, P5.
Nota: The last thoracic segment produced on each side into a lateral spine. Rostrum short with a slight indication of lens. The left A1 extends about to the end of the 3rd thoracic segment.

Rem.: epipelagic; neritic.
Certain locality records are incertain: possible confusion with Pontella sewelli.
Silas & Pillai (1973, p.828) point to Gisebrecht (1892, Pl.24, fig.29) has not shown the three minute marginal spinules present on the outer margin of exopod of P5 female; these spinules closely resemble those of P. atlantica Milne-Edwards (1840).
