| | | | | | Syn.: | ? Chiridiella macrodactyla : Farran, 1908 (p.46, Pl. IV, figs.6-14) | | | Ref.: | | | Deevey, 1974 (p.451, figs.F, juv.M); Markhaseva, 1996 (p.88, figs.F) | issued from : E.L. Markhaseva in Proc. Zool. Inst. RAN, St. Petersburg, 1996, 268. [p.91, Fig.66]. Female. P.md: mandibular palp; Gn: genital segment (ventral view); GntbMd: gnathobase of Md.
issued from : G.B. Deevey in Bull. Mar. Sc., 1974, 24 (2). [p.449, Fig.5]. Female (from 32°10'N, 64°30'W): a-b, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); c, P1; d, A2; e, Mx1; f, Mxp. Scale at left center for parts a and b; at bottom for parts c-f. Scales in mm. Nota: Cephalothorax 80 % of total length ; urosome 25 % of cephalothorax length. A1 23-segmented, reaching to genital segment. Endopod of A2 about 2/3 length of exopod. P1 exopod with 2 edge spines

issued from : G.B. Deevey in Bull. Mar. Sc., 1974, 24 (2). [p.450, Fig.6]. Female: c, P2; d, P4; e, P3; f, A1; h, Md; i, Mx2. Immature Male: a-b, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); g, P5. Scale at left center for parts a and b; at bottom for parts c-i. Scales in mm.

issued from : E.L. Markhaseva in Proc. Zool. Inst. RAN, St. Petersburg, 1996, 268. [p.91, Fig.66]. Female: Mx2.
Chiridiella bichela female: 1 - Mx2 with 5 endites. 2 - Mx2 strongly modified in comparison with typical; first-fifth endites of varying size; Setation is not typical, some number of setae on third-fifth endites transformed into pincers-like spines. 3 - Setae of third and fourth endites of Mx2 arranged like pincers. 4 - Exopod of P1 with 2 external spines. A1 nearly as long as cephalothorax.
Chiridiella bichela female ; 1 - 3rd and 4th lobes of Mx2 each with pincer arrangement. 2 - A1 approximately cephalothorax length. 3 - Mx2 long and slim. 4 - P1 exopod with 2 edge spines.

Distribution map of Chiridiella bichela by geographical zones
| | | Chart of 1996 | |
| | | Loc: | | | off Bermuda: Station "S" (32°10'N, 64°30'W), Kuril-Kamchatka (in Markhaseva & Razzhivin, 1993, p.611) | | | N: | 4 | | | Lg.: | | | (37) F: 2,8-2,5; (224) F: 2,5; {F: 2,50-2,80} | | | Rem.: | bathy & abyssopelagic. Sargasso Sea: 1500-2000 m (Deevey & Brooks, 1977, station "S"); For Deevey (p.448) this species is closely similar to C. macrodactyla Farran 1908 but did not figure the small 2nd lobe on Mx2; Mxp is similar except that Farran figured only 1 seta on the 2nd segment; of the females from Deevey, two individuals appeared to have only 1 seta on this segment; Farran also figured P3 with 2 exopod segments and did not indicate that his specimens were gibbous. | | | Last update : 26/07/2018 | |
