Ohtsuka, A. Fleminger & T. Onbé in J. Crustacean Biol., 1987, 7 (3). [p.561, Fig.6]. Female (from Wewak Harbor, Papua New Guinea): A, urosome (dorsal); B, idem (lateralright side); C idem (another specimen); D, genital operculum; E, caudal rami (ventral); F, P5 (posterior). Male: G, segments proximal and distal to articulation of right A1; H, P5 (posterior). Arrowheads indicating minute prominences.

Issued from : Mulyadi in Treubia, 2002, 32. [p.114, Fig.41]. Male (from Jakarta Bay): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (lateral); c, 5th metasomal somite and urosome (lateral right side); d, geniculate region of right A1; e, right P5; f, left P5; g, distal segment of left P5. Nota: Rostrum anterior and posterior sides with 2 well developed lenses. urosomite 1 slightly asymmetrical, left side weakly produced. Caudal ramus symmetrical. The male is identifiable by the large digitiform process on the concave surface of chela.

Distribution map of Pontella surrecta by geographical zones
|
| | | | | | issued from : S. Ohtsuka, A. Fleminger & T. Onbé in J. Crustacean Biol., 1987, 7 (3). [p.565, Fig.10]. Distribution of the Pontella alata group. Arabic numerals show the number of individual tows containing one or more individuals of the species taken in the vicinity of the new record indicated by the symbol. |
| | | Loc: | | | Java (Jakarta Bay, Surabaya), N Celebes, Philippines (NE Mindanao), N New Guinea, S Korea, ? Japan (Tanabe Bay) (in Yamazi, 1958); NE Australia (Great Barrier Reef).
Type locality: northeastern Mindanao (Philippines). | | | N: | 7 | | | Lg.: | | | (137) F: 3,6; (900) M: 2,93; (1087) F: 3,2-3,25; M: 2,95; (1126) F: 3,20-3,25; M: 2,93-3,00; {F: 3,20-3,60; M: 2,93-3,00} | | | Rem.: | epiplanktonic.Netitic-oceanic. The male described by C.B. Wilson as P. surrecta male is synonym of Ivellopsis elephas (Brady, 1883). For Ohtsuka & al. (1987, p.560) the species resembles P. rostraticauda; female appendages of both species are almost the same except for P5. The most conspicuous difference is in the morphology of the urosome. This species belongs to "P. alata"-Group (See in P. alata in Mulyadi, 2003, Table I; 2011, p.1529) | | | Last update : 29/01/2015 | |
