Species Chiridiella bispinosa - Plate 5 of morphological figuresChiridiella bispinosa female:
1 - Mx2 with 5 endites.
2 - Mx2 not strongly modified in comparison with typical; setation of first-fifth endites nearly of the same size, without pincers-like spines.
3 - Endopod of P1 without external lobe.
4 - Exopod of P1 with 2 external spines.
5 - Mx1 second internal lobe reduced, third with 2 setae and short filament; endopod with 3 setae; exopod with 8-9 setae.

Species Chiridiella bispinosa - Plate 6 of morphological figuresChiridiella bispinosa female ;
1 - Mx2 lobes without spines arranged as pincers.
2 - 3rd, 4th and 5th lobes of Mx2 with enlarged hooklike spines .
4 - A1 longer than body, reaching just beyond the caudal rami.
5 - Cephalothorax around 5 times length of urosome.
6 - P1 exopod with 2 edge spines.

This species is related to C. subaequalis Grice & Hulsemann (1965), in the latter, Mx1 has 3 inner lobes and only 4 setae on the exopod and in Mx2 the heavy spines on the distal three lobes are equal in length.
