Pontellopsis globosa C.B. Wilson, 1950 (F) | |
| | | | | | Ref.: | | | C.B. Wilson, 1950 (p.307, Descr.F, figs.F); Silas & Pillai, 1973 (1976) (p.777) | issued from : C.B. Wilson in Bull. U.S. natn Mus., 100, 14 (4), 1950. [Pl.31, Fig.466]. Female (from Philippines): 466, habitus (dorsal). Nota: Head broadly rounded in front with a median projection over the base of the rostrum.4th and 5th metasomal segments fused with stout spines at the posterior corners, which reach to the center of the 1st abdominal segment. Anal segment longer than either of the first two segments and invaginate at the center of the posterior margin. Caudal rami as long as the anal segment, one-half longer than wide, each with 1 outer and 4 terminal setae and an appendicular seta at the inner corner.

issued from : C.B. Wilson in Bull. U.S. natn Mus., 100, 14 (4), 1950. [Pl.31, Fig.468]. Female: 468, P5. Nota: P5 are peculiar and furnish the chief characteristic that separates this form from the other species of the genus; the globular endopods tipped with a stout curved spine and the perfect symmetry of the urosome are the best details for the identification.
