Species Pseudocyclops latens - Plate 1 of morphological figuresIssued from : R. Gurney in Trans. zool. Soc. Lond., 1927, 22. [p.456, Fig. 108].
Female (from Ismaïlia, Suez Canal): A, habitus (dorsal); B, posterior part of prosome thoracic segment and and abdomen (lateral); C, abdomen (ventral); D, P3 (of right side, from behind); E, P5 (of right side).

Nota:
- 1st pedigerous somite fused with the head, but faintly indicated by a small groove on the dorsal side; 4th and 5th thoracic somites fused.
- posterior corners of the prosome produced backwards on each side and appearing as sharply pointed posteriorly in dorsal view.
- Abdomen apparently 3-segmented, the 4th somite very small and partly fused with the caudal rami (indeed, it is only in ventral view that the exystence of a somite as distinct from the caudal rami); somites fringed with delicate hairs.
- Genital somite with paired genital openings, protected by a pair of downwardly directed pointed chitinous flaps.
- Caudal rami short and broad, each with an inner rounded lobe overlapping the lobe of the opposite side..
- A1 much shorter than the head-region.- P1 to P3 agreeing with those of P. crassirostris as figured by Sars.
- P5 with both branches 3-segmented, the inner scarcely longer than the 2nd segment of the outer; exopod very stout, without inner setae, the last segment with 4 large winged spines. At the base of the two terminal spines is a series of peculiar scales, some of which are pectinate. Endopod 3-segmented without setae except for a very small seta at the end of the 3rd segment.
