Female (from Aew Is., Phuket): A, habitus (lateral right side); B, urosome (dorsal); C, idem (ventral); D, A1 (elements omitted); E, syncoxa of Mxp; F, P1 (anterior); G, P2 (anterior); H, P3 (anterior); I, P4 (anterior); J, P5 (anterior). Male: K, habitus (lateral right side); L, urosome (dorsal); M, right A1 (elements omitted); N, P5 (anterior; 2nd exopod segment of left leg omitted); O, exopod of left P5. Scale bars in mm.

issued from : S. Ohtsuka, A. Fosshagen & S. Putchakarn in Plankton Biol. Ecol., 1999, 46 (2). [p.144, Fig.10]. Female (SEM photomicrographs): A, urosome (ventral; genital openings arrowed).
|
issued from : S. Ohtsuka & R. Huys in Hydrobiologia, 2001, 453/454. [p.460, Fig.14, A-B]. Female (from Phuket, Thailand): A, rostrum. Male (from Phuket, Thailand): rostrum a: A1; suture separated pseudorostrum from dorsal cephalic shield arrowed. Scale bars = 0.1 mm. Nota: The rostrum ('pseudorostrum' sensu Huys & Boxshall, 1991) is mobile at the base only in the male but not in the female (sexually dimorphic characters). This juncture may facilitate grasping of the female by the right geniculate A1 of the male during the initial phase of copulation, since the female is an active swimmer (Bowman & Gonzalez, 1961).
