Lophothrix quadrispinosa Wolfenden, 1911 (F) | |
| | | | | | Ref.: | | | Wolfenden, 1911 (p.269, Descr.F, figs.F); Sewell, 1929 (p.200, figs.F, Rem. juv.); 1947 (p.152, figs.F, Rem.); Owre & Foyo, 1967 (p.68, figs.F); Bradford, 1973 (p.144); Bradford & al., 1983 (p.88); Park, 1983 (p.178); Bradford-Grieve & al., 1999 (p.881, 931, figs.F); Vives & Shmeleva, 2007 (p.749, figs.F, Rem.) | issued from : R.B.S. Sewell in The John Murray Expedition, 1933-34, Scientific Reports, VIII (1), 1947. [p.153, Fig.39, B-H]. Female (from central Arabian Sea): B, habitus (dorso-lateral right side); C, urosome (dorso-lateral aspect); D, A2; E, Md; F, mx1; G, P2; H, P5. Nota: The proportional lengths of the cephalothorax and abdomen as 82 to 18. The proportional lengths of the various segments of the body (cephalon to caudal rami) as 553:98:76:76:78:38:30:21:20 = 1000. The three posteror urosomal segments are ornemented on their dorsal and dorso-lateral aspects with rows of fine hair-like spines (very similar to the ornamentetion recorded in L. frontalis). In the present specimens the terminal segment of P5 is very longer than is shown by Wolfenden (1911, Pl.XXXIV, fig.3), and than in the specimens taken in the Bay of Bengal (Sewell, 1929). The intestinal tract is curiouly twisted as in L. frontalis (See in With, 1915, p.212).
