Species Mixtocalanus robustus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresIssued from : K.A. Brodskii in Calanoida of the Far Eastern Seas and Polar Basin of the USSR. Opred. Fauna SSSR, 1950, 35 (Israel Program for Scientific Translations, Jerusalem, 1967) [p.238, Fig.149].
Female (from NW Pacif.): habitus (dorsal and lateral left side); forehead (lateral); R, rostrum; A2; Mp1, Mx2; Mp2, Mxp; S1, P1; S2, P2. - Abdomen 3.5 times in length of cephalothorax.
- Rostrum with massive proximal part bearing clearly defined rather thin filaments.
- A1 short, not reaching end of thorax.
- A2 rami of equal length.
- Outer spines of exopod of P1 very long, each spine reaching middle of next spine.
P5 bearing only 1 spineon apex of distal segment of one leg; spine much shorter than width of segment.

Species Mixtocalanus robustus - Plate 2 of morphological figuresIssued from : N.V. Vyshkvartzeva in Explorations of the Fauna of the Seas, USSR Acad. Sci., 1989, 41 (49). [p.20, Fig.5].
Female: 1-2, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); 3, forhead (lateral); 4, rostrum; 5, urosome (ventral view); 6, genital segment (lateral view); 7, basis and endopod of P1; 8, P1; 9, P2; 10, P2 with abnormaly; 11, P3; 12, P5.
Figs. 1-4, 12 from Brodsky, 1950.

Species Mixtocalanus robustus - Plate 3 of morphological figuresIssued from : N.V. Vyshkvartzeva in Explorations of the Fauna of the Seas, USSR Acad. Sci., 1989, 41 (49). [p.21, Fig.6].
Female: 1, A2; 2-3 Md edge of gnathobase (different views); 4, Mx1; 5, Mx2; 6, Mx2 sensory setae of distal part; 7, Mxp.

Distribution map of Mixtocalanus robustus by geographical zones
NW Pacif, Japan (NE).
N: 3
(22) F: 3; {F: 3,00}
Rem.: Abyssal.
After Vyskvartzeva (1989, p.23) there is a possibility that the male belongs to the genus Talacalanus Wolfenden, 1911.
