Endopod of Mx2 has 3 ribbon-like setae and 4 brush-like setae.
Basal segment of Mxp with 2 worm-like and 1 brush-like seta.
The hind margin of the cephalothorax is indented laterally.

Distribution map of Pseudoamallothrix canariensis by geographical zones
Cape Verde Is., off Canary Is.
N: 3
(8) F: 3,42-3,12; {F: 3,12-3,42}
Rem.: bathypelagic.
According to Roe (1975, p.325) as with Scolecithricella laminata (Farran, 1926) it is impossible to place the present species into any of the Scolecithricid genera defined by Bradford (1973), or into any of the remaining genera in this family. Both have some affinity to Lophothrix but also show a general resemblance to Amallothrix.
