Scaphocalanus acutocornis  Vyshkvartseva, 1987   (F)
Ref.:
Vyshkvartzeva, 1987 (p.1573, Descr.F, figs.F)
Species Scaphocalanus acutocornis - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : N;V. Vyshskvartzeva in Zool. Zh., 1987, LXVI, 10. [p.1574, Figs. 1-10].
Female (from 43°48'N, 149°55'E): 1-2, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); 3, rostrum (ventral); 4, last thoracic segment and urosome (lateral; 5, genital somite (ventral); 6, P1 (part.); 7, P2 (part.); 8, Md (mandibular palp); 9, P3 (part.); 10, P4 (part.)

Species Scaphocalanus acutocornis - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : N;V. Vyshskvartzeva in Zool. Zh., 1987, LXVI, 10. [p.1575, Figs. 1, 4, 6].
Female: 1, lateral corners of the last thoracic segment and urosome (dorsal); 4, Mx1; 6, P5.
Nota: exopodite of Mx1 with 8 setae.

NZ: 1

Distribution map of Scaphocalanus acutocornis by geographical zones
Loc:
NW Pacif. (Kuril-Kamchatka)
N: 1
Lg.:
(528) F: 4,22; {F: 4,22}
Rem.: Abyssal (4295-6551 m).
For Vyshkvartzeva (1987, p.1576) the species resembles S. elongatus A. Scott in the shape of cephalothorax, but the last is smaller with 7 setae on exopodite of Mx1 and spines on ventral and dorsal surfaces of P1. New species is similar to arctic species S. polaris Brodsky, 1950 in size and shape of cephalon, but differs from it by elongated lateral corners of the last thoracic segment with acute triangular processes, the longer 3rd urosomal segment and a shorter lanceolate apical spine of P5
