Esterly in Univ. Calif. Publs Zool., 1913, 11 (10). [Pl. 10, Figs. 2, 25]. Female (from S California): 2, abdomen and posterior part of thorax (lateral); 25, forhead (lateral). Nota: Bifid rostrum, each prong of which is heavy at the base and carries a delicate but stiff and sharp spine at the distal end. The last thoracic segment is rounded at the sides and the dorsal margin of the segment is slightly concave. Abdomen 4-segmented; genital segment nearly as long as the second, 3rd, and 4th together; anal segment short, about 1/10 the length of the 1st segment. Mx2 with 4 penicillate sensory appendages; the others vermiform. length of cephalothorax: 1.35 mm.

Nota: P5 with 3 segments; the distal margins of the first two segments with rows or groups of fine spines, the 3rd segment carries a long heavy spine on the inner margin and a shorter one on the diatal end, both set with small teeth. P5 length = 160 µm. P1 exopod length: 329 µm.
