500-1040 m; epibenthic (1573-1535 m). This species is closely related to X. formosus. Morphological characteristics (from Bradford-Grieve , 2005, p.947): A1 extends to middle of pedigerous 2; basis of Md with 4 setae; inner lobe 1 of Mx2 with 5 setae; basis of P1 naked; general proportions of P5: elongate; basis and exopod of P5: separate; exopod of P5 with 2 spines.
