Damkaeria falcifera Fosshagen, 1983 (F,M) | |
| | | | | | Ref.: | | | Fosshagen, 1983 (p.257, figs.F,M); Bradford-Grieve, 1994 (p.97, Rem.) | issued from A. Fosshagen in Sarsia, 1983, 68. [p.258, Fig.1]. Female (from 66°58.8'N, 4°10.2'E): A, habitus (dorsal); B-C, urosome (dorsal and lateral, respectively); D, A1; E, A2; F, Md; G, Md (cutting edge of mandibular blade). Nota: All pedigerous segments separated. Prosome is about 3 times the length of the urosome. Rostrum pointed, single and directed backwards. Urosome 4-segmented. Caudal rami slightly longer than the anal segment.A1 23-segmented (original segments 8 and 9 and 24 and 25 fused. Exopod of A2 longer than endopod. Mx1 shows some reduction particularly in the 3rd inner lobe, along the basipod, and in the endopod where the size and number of setae have been reduced; the 2nd and 3rd inner lobes carry 4 and 3 setae respectively. mx2 bears a strong modified claw-like spine on the 4th lobe, distally this spine is strongly armed. P1 endopod with an outer rounded process. P5 absent.

 issued from A. Fosshagen in Sarsia, 1983, 68. [p.259, Fig.2]. Female: A, Mx1; B, Mx2; C, 4th lobe of Mx2; D, Mxp; E, P1; F, P2; G, P3; H, P4.

issued from A. Fosshagen in Sarsia, 1983, 68. [p.261, Fig.3]. Male: A, habitus (lateral); B, urosome; C, left A1 (distal segments); D, right A1 (distal segments); E, Mx1; F, Mxp; G, right P5. Nota: Prosome about two and a half times the length of the urosome. Urosome 5-segmented, the 1st segment slightly asymmetrical anal segment is about half the length of the caudal rami. Right A1 22-segmented (riginal segments 20 and 21 fused), left A1 23-segmented. A2 and Md similar to those of the female. Further reduction has occurred in Mx1, particularly in the 2nd inner lobe, which has become smaller and carries only 2 small setae; the 1st inner lobe, exopod and 1st outer lobe are similar to those of female. mx2 does not differ from that of the female.. Mxp is reduced in size, and bears a reduced number of setae on the endopod compared to that of the female. P5 present on the right side only, 4-segmented and very long appendage Male stage V: H, right P5.
