Nota: A1 with segments 8 and 9 fused, 24 and 25 separate; aesthetasks on segments3, 5, 7, 9, 19 and 25. The posterior sides of basipods of P4 with numerous spines.

Male (from 39°45.2'N, 70°33.8'W): 191-192, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); 193, 5th thoracic segment and genital segment (dorsal); 194, 5th thoracic segment with P5 and urosome (right side); 195, same (left side); 196, rostrum; 197, right A1 (broken short); 198, A2; 199, md palp; 200, Md gnathobase; 201, Mx1; 202, Mx2; 203, Mxp; 204, P1; 205, P2; 206, P3; 207, P4; 208, P5 (anterior view); 209, P5 (posterior view); 210, left P5 (2nd and 3rd segments of exopod).

Nota: - Head and 1st thoracic segment fused, 4th and 5th partially fused.
- Abdomen 5-segmented, anal segment small.
-Rostrum bifurcate, each side bearing a filament.
- Posterolateral corners of cephalothorax symmetrical and emarginate.
- A1 asymmetrical.
- Right A1 with segments 8-10 fused and apparently segments 21 and 22 fused. Left A1 with segments 8-10 only fused. Numerous aesthetascs proximally.
- Endopod of A2 about 1/2 length of exopod.
- Md palp large; gnathobase elongate and bearing 4 large teeth, several needle-like spines and 1 seta.
- Mx1 with 10 spines on 1st inner lobe, 3 setae on 2nd inner lobe, 4 setae on 3rd inner lobe; 4 setae on 2nd basal segment; 7 setae on endopod, 7 setae on exopod, and 7 setae on 1st outer lobe.
- Distal end of Mx2 bearing 3 bulbous and several worm-like sensory setae.
- Mxp with sensory setae on 1st basal segment.
- P1 with 3-segmented exopod and 1-segmented endopod.
- P2 with 3-segmented exopod and 2-segmented endopod.
- P3 and P4 with 3-segmented exopods and endopods.
- Numerous spines on endopod of P3 and basal segments and rami of P4.
- P5 biramous, reaching to end of caudal rami. Right exopod 1-segmented, endopod fused with basal segment. Left exopod 3-segmented, proximal segment with large rounded protuberance; left endopod elongate and 1-segmented.

Rem.: hyperbenthic. (1750-1822 m).
The species is closely related to P. manicula. Grice (1972, p.240) points to the male described could actually be the undescribed male of P. manicula Fleminger, 1957.
