Undinella spinifera  Tanaka, 1960   (F)
Syn.: Undinella spinifer Tanaka, 1960 a (p.132, Descr.F, figs.F); Fernandes, 2008 (p.465, Tabl.2)
Ref.:

Species Undinella spinifera - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : O. Tanaka in Publ. Sero Mar. Biol. Lab., 1960, VIII (1). [p.133, Fig.104].
Female (from Suruga Bay, Japan): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (lateral); c, last thoracic segment and urosome (lateral left side); d, rostrum (anterior aspect); e, Mx1; f, P2; g, P3; h, P5.

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment separate, 4th and 5th fused.
Rostral filaments slender attached to the basal part which is concave at the apex.
Lateral distal corner of the last thoracic segment produced into and acute angle and terminates into point.
Abdomen contained 3.7 times in the lenth of the cephalothorax.
The abdominal segments and furca in the proportional lengths 36 : 24 : 21 : 5 : 14 = 100.
Genital segment about as long as wide, not swollen below.
Anal segment short, concealed beneath the foregoing.
Caudal rami 1.5 times as long as wide.
Mx1 with strong spines on the 1st inner lobe.
P5 3-segmented, asymmetrical; segments of about equal lengths. Right P5 with 4 apical spines, left P5 3 spines on the distal margin.

Species Undinella spinifera - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : O. Tanaka in Publ. Sero Mar. Biol. Lab., 1960, VIII (1). [p. 133].
Female: Proportional lengths of segments of A1.

Nota: A1 24-segmented, extends about to the posterior margin of the last thoracic segment.
