Species Aegisthus aculeatus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A. Boxshall in Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Zool.), 1979, 35 (3). [p.205, Fig.1, H-O].
Female (from 18°N, 25°W): H, habitus (dorsal); I, A2; J, Mxp; K, P1; L, P5; M, P6.

Male: N, habitus (dorsal); O, P5.

Scales 0.1 mm unless otherwise indicated.

Species Aegisthus aculeatus - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : H.B. Owre & M. Foyo in Copepods of the Florida Current. Fauna Caribaea, 1967, 1, Crustacea, Part 1: Copepoda. [p.104, Figs.750-751].
Male: 750, P5; 751, P6.

Nota: The male resembles the female in general characteristics (shape of body, rostrum, length of caudal setae). P5 is 2-segmented; the 1st segment is incompletely separated from basipod 2 and there is a long seta on the outer margin which probably actually is a structure of the basipod; a stout serrated spine emerges from the outer distal corner of the 1st segment, the 2nd segment bears 4 serrated spines (2 on the outer margin and 2 terminal, of inequal length) and 2 internal setae.

Female: 45, habitus (dorsal); 50, thoracic segment 5 with P5, and abdominal segments 1 and 2 (ventral).
