Li, S.J. Li & B. Chen in Marine planktonic copepods in Chinese waters. Shanghai Sc. Techn. Press, 1982 [p.108, Fig.65]. Female: a, habitus (dorsal); , b, A1; c, A2, d, Mx2.

Issued from : T. Mori in The Pelagic Copepoda from the neighbouring waters of Japan, 1964 (2nd edition). [Pl. 67, Figs.10-13]. Female (from East China Sea, Taiwan): 10, habitus (dorsal); 11, caudal rami; 12, A2; 13, Mxp. Nota:Genital segment nearly as long as the following segment. Caudal rami nearly as long as the anal segment. A1 5-segmented. Anterior margin od A2 prossesses a short proximal seta, and a long distal one. Anterior margin of the 2nd segment of Mxp with spines; terminal claw longer than the 2nd segment. 3rd segment of exopodites of P1 and P2 with 2 outer marginal spines (clearly different from L. minuta). Inner spine of P5 slightly longer than the outer. Remarks: There is a doubt on the maturity of this species, on the fact that the genital segment is relatively short, but the females often are carrying the eggs, showing the maturity of these females.

Cf. Lubbockia squillimana. This species was maintained in Kim & al (1993) and C.-Y. Lee & al., 2009 (p.155: Tab.2), without doubt validly. Huys & Böttger-Schnack (1996/97) do not mention the existence of this species. | | | Last update : 10/08/2019 | |
