| | | | | | | | | | | | issued from : A.A. Shmeleva in Bull. Inst. Oceanogr., Monaco, 1965, 65 (n°1351). [Table 6: 46]. As Corina granulosa (from South Adriatic). Dimensions, volume and Weight wet. Means for 50-60 specimens. Volume and weight calculated by geometrical method. Assumed that the specific gravity of the Copepod body is equal to 1, then the volume will correspond to the weight. |

Overall Depth Range in Sargasso Sea: 0-1000 m (Deevey & Brooks, 1977, Station "S"); According to Hure & Scotto di Carlo (1967, p.292) some forms show a neoteny explaining the differences in the number of abdominal segments females (2 or 3 segments) and on A1 (5 or 6 segments). Rose & vaissière ((1952) 1953, p.19) observe that certain females have a number of abdominal segments corresponding to the specimen of Giesbrecht (1892, Taf.50, figs.53, 54), but that others have an additional segment between the genital segment and anal segment. A1 presents 5 segments in Giesbrecht and more numerous setae while for the individuals from the Bay of Alger the number of segments is 6 and the setae less numerous. | | | Last update : 20/02/2018 | |
