A1 5-segmented; relative lengths of segments 19:49:15:8:9. A2 5-segmented; relative lengths of segments 25:42:6:19:8. labrum projecting posteroventrally, bilobed, with a small fringe of minute pinnules near apex of each lobe. Md a falcate blade bearing 2 marginal rows of denticles. Mx1 a simple elongate process bearing 1 naked seta on inner margin and 3 on distal margin. Mx2 2-segmented, comprising a robust basal segment and a short apical segment bearing 3 terminal elements; a spinous process bearing small pinnules on margin, a pinnate seta and a subapical seta. P5 reduced, comprising 2 setae inserted on raised posterolateral angles of urosomite 1.

Species Urocopia deeveyae - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : G.A Boxshall in Bull. Mar. Sci., 1981, 31 (2). [p.309, Fig.2]. As Sinoculosapphirina deeveyae.

For Heron & Damkaer (1986, p.146) the swimming legs and P5 of Sinoculosapphirina deeveyae are similar to those of Urocopia singularis. The lack of cuticular lenses and the presence of unsegmented P5 indicate that it is more closely related to Urocopiidae than to Sapphirinidae. The 6-segmented A1 of Urocopia singularis has an incomplete suture between segments 2 and 3. Rather than 5-segmented, there is the possibility of an incomplete articulation on the long 2nd segment of the A1 of Sinoculasapphirina deeveyae. Althrough Boxshall (1981) described A2 as being 5-segmented, his illustration appears to have 4 segments with a strong terminal claw. Humes & Stock (1973, p.329) noted that Sars had mistakenly regarded the terminal claw as a 5th segment when he described A2 of Urocopia singularis. The A2 of the superfamily Lichomolgoidea Humes & Stock (1972, p.122) was defined as being either 4 or 3-segmented by a fusion of the last two segments.
