Species Spinoncaea humesi - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : R. Böttger-Schnack in Zool. J. Linnean Soc., London, 2003, 137. [p209, Fig.8].
Female (from Red Sea): A, habitus (dorsal); B, idem (lateral left side); C, urosome (dorsal); D, idem (lateral right side); E, P5-bearing somite (setae on left side omitted) and genital double-somite, ventral; F, caudal ramus (dorsal); G, A1; H, P5 (lateral); I, idem (dorsal); J, genital aperture.
Nota: Proportional lengths (%) of urosomites and caudal rami 7.0:43.5:8.7:8.0:17.1:15.7. Relative lengths (%) of segments of A1 measured along posterior non-setigerous margin 7.5:13.4:45.2:12.4:7.5:14.0. Anal somite 1.2 times longer than wide, slightly shorter than caudal rami (measured along iouter margin), or abour as long as caudal rami (measured along inner margin), variation in length to width ratio as shown in table 7. Caudal ramus 2.6 times lionger than wide measured along inner margin and about 3 times longer than wide measured along outer margin; variation indicated in Table 7.

Species Spinoncaea humesi - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : R. Böttger-Schnack in Zool. J. Linnean Soc., London, 2003, 137. [p210, Fig.9].
Female: A, A2; B, labrum (anterior); C, idem (posterior); D, Md (showing individual elements); E, Mx1; F, Mx2; G, Mxp (anterior).

Species Spinoncaea humesi - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : R. Böttger-Schnack in Zool. J. Linnean Soc., London, 2003, 137. [p211, Fig.10].
Female: A, P1 (posterior); B, P2 (posterior); C, P3 (posterior); D, P4 (posterior, reduced proximal seta on 2nd endopod segment arrowed).

Species Spinoncaea humesi - Plate 4 of morphological figuresissued from : R. Böttger-Schnack in Zool. J. Linnean Soc., London, 2003, 137. [p213, Fig.11].
Male (from Red Sea): A, habitus (dorsal); B, Mxp (anterior); C, Mxp (medial view); D, urosome (dorsal, seta V on left side missing); E, idem (ventral); F, idem (lateral left side); G, A1 (middle aesthetasc on segment 4 arrowed).
Nota: Proportional lengths (%) of urosomites and caudal rami 6.0:55.7:3.5:3.5:3.5:14.1:13.7. Relative lengths (%) of segments of A1 measured along posterior non-setigerous margin 8.3:18.0:44.9:28.8.

Species Spinoncaea humesi - Plate 5 of morphological figuresissued from : R. Böttger-Schnack in Zool. J. Linnean Soc., London, 2003, 137. [p.214, Table 7];
variation in the length to width ratio (measured dorsally) of the anal somite and caudal rami in female from different geographical regions.
N = number of individuals examined (note that measurements represent typical values of specimens for a given area; m = margin.
